About GreenStory

GreenStory is a Dutch design company that has been working for over ten years to create the perfect sticky planner for every household and organization. Dutch Design is deeply ingrained in our DNA: functional, elegant, and just a little bit more cheerful. The right curves and dimensions, a subtle yet striking color palette, stylish typography. GreenStory is designed to last. Dutch at heart, European in focus.

Half of our orders now go abroad, and we’re proud of that. Within Europe, delivery takes an average of three to five business days. Returns are accepted within 30 days.

Timeline

GreenStory

2011
It all started with a school project

At a high school in Zoetermeer, a small idea takes shape: sustainable notebooks and pens, sold to classmates.

2013

The kitchen table becomes the office

The project doesn’t end after the exam. The family will help with purchasing, packing, and shipping. Everything is done from the living room.

2014

A Name and a Face

The online store goes live, and the first customers come from outside the circle of friends. The very first logo is created at an entrepreneurship event. A few thousand euros in revenue that year, and it all goes back into the business.

2015

One word that changes everything

A new website is on the way. Through a client, we came into contact with a manufacturer in Lithuania that makes something special: a notebook you can erase. Sitting at the kitchen table, we came up with a name for it: GreenBook.

2016

From selling to experiencing

The company is officially registered, and the first employees from outside the family join the team. From that moment on, a handwritten note is included with every order.

2017

Our own design, our own name

The GreenBook is truly becoming our own: bullet points, weekly planners, fifteen custom page designs. We’re getting a new logo. And the name is changing too. “a Green Story” becomes “Greenstory,” and we’re launching at ourgreenstory.com/en.

2018

We are stopping resales

There will be a custom cover for the GreenBook that you can design yourself. The product range will be smaller and more personalized: fewer products from other companies, more products of our own.

2019

From a family business to a team

Customer service is getting its own identity. Customers message us directly about what they’re missing, and that feedback is reflected in our products. We’re hiring new staff for B2B and logistics. For the first time, we have a team on the shop floor.

2020

A new product, in a strange year

Early that year, a new idea took shape: an erasable planner you can stick anywhere. By the end of 2020, it was on store shelves. In a year when the world came to a standstill, we continued to develop and invest.

2021

Finally, a place of my own

After ten years of working out of our home, we’re moving into our own office with a warehouse, just a stone’s throw from where it all began. The team continues to grow, and the erasable planner is finding its way into schools, offices, and kitchens.

2022

The planner finds its place

What started as a random idea has become our best-selling product. The erasable planner can now be found on many refrigerators and doors.

2023

From a single product to a collection

A whole series is developing around the planner: different sizes, different layouts, different uses. Much of it stems directly from what customers ask us for.

2024

A new front door

The website is getting a complete overhaul. And from now on, we’ll be reaching out to people where they already are: on social media.

2025

Across the border

We’re seeing more and more orders from outside the Netherlands. Our product line is expanding to the rest of Europe: different languages, different customers, same story.

2026

A new office, a larger team

We’re moving to Rotterdam and making room for more people—more hands on deck for design, customer service, and everything in between.
