For several years we have been trying to make our household a little greener and more sustainable step by step. Living with less waste is also among the goals. Nice items that make the zero-waste lifestyle easy always get me excited, and with GreenBook it is no different. The erasable notebook in which you can take endless notes and wipe them away again is genius in itself, and the Nutrition Planner is also, in our case, a welcome addition to the regular lined pages.

A weekly menu
At our house, my husband does the big shopping once a week using a list. The advantage of this is that we are less likely to make impulsive purchases that end up in the trash. Thus, we throw away much less food. To avoid surprises while cooking, we do need to keep a good overview. We used to write out weekly menus and the ingredients needed to purchase on paper notepads. But actually that is such a waste of waste: a menu planning is not something to keep right away once everything is consumed again and a new week presents itself.
Planning and shopping list in one
So in our case, the Nutrition Planner is a welcome addition to the regular lined pages of GreenBook. Indeed, with this meal planner, which you simply snap along in your GreenBook, you can very easily create an overview of the week's menu. There is enough space to plan breakfast, lunch and dinner for each day of the week.
After we have decided what will be on the menu, it is convenient to immediately make a shopping list in the same notebook. Whatever is in the house, we immediately tick off. This also keeps it clear which things need to be purchased later, such as less long-lasting vegetables or a fresh loaf of bread.
Ordinary and chaotic
Are you a creature of habit who eats the same thing every morning, like us? Then you can just leave your regular breakfast filled in. Do you get a last minute invitation, or meals get shifted around? Deleting and refilling is easy, and the list stays organized. A big improvement for us: at the end of the week we had often deleted or changed so much using all sorts of arrows that we lost our overview.
Our weekly menus now look a lot more structured, and we waste less paper: two birds with one stone. Now just to make sure our inspiration for varied dishes doesn't get lost... 😉
